It's heating up here in the land down-under with temperatures averaging 35+ Australia Wide!!! Crazy to think that our friends in the northern hemisphere are skiing down snowy slopes and suffering from frostbite. It's okay because we are having Fun n' Sun here in Aus. Sorry to be the fun police, but please remember to Slip, Slop Slop / No Hat, No Play. Okay, back to it ......
For you locals, or those visiting the land down under, here are some of 4Ds Summer Lovin' recommendations:
- Manly Beach: NSW
No, we're not being biased just because our office is based here in Manly, on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Manly is seriously a place you've got to check out!!! We've got the beach, not just one - Multiple!!! You can enjoy a nice scenic walk or rollerblade from Queenscliff beach to Shelly Beach. You'll never go hungry as there are ENDLESS restaurants & cafes to satisfy all tastebuds. Casual takeaway to fine dining - there's something for everyone. Last but not least, come say hello to us!! If you're lucky, you maybe able to sneak a preview of some of our new arrivals hehe .....
- Wet N Wild: QLD
Summer in Queensland is hot hot hot. If the beach doesn’t cool you down enough, the variety of rides and pools at Wet n’Wild on the Gold Coast should do the job.Slip N Slides, wave pools, and water rides, it's the perfect way to stay cool for the day. ATTENTION NSW, there's a Wet N Wild for you in Sydney's West which is open all summer long!!!
- Aussie Open: VIC
Summer = Sporting Season here in Aus!! Not only the Cricket, but it's home to the world famous grand slam tennis event - Australian Open. Your all-time favourites including Federer, Nadal, Williams and Wozniaki will be doing their thang in Melbourne, so make sure you get yourself some tickets and witness some amazing court-side action!!
- Turtle Nesting: WA
Every year over summer, three of the world’s seven marine turtle species come ashore to nest on the islands and beaches of the Ningaloo Reef. You can watch this incredible spectacle, or if you want to become more involved you can volunteer.
- Questacon: ACT
Sick of the Aussie heat? Then play indoors at Questacon. Super fun interactive tech & science museum. It's a must do !!!!
- Picnic's in the Botanic Gardens: SA
Only 20 minutes drive from Adelaide, Mount Lofty is a stunning display of plants and trees, a burst of colour hidden in the Adelaide Hills. It’s the perfect place for a picnic, although the gardens are shut on days of high fire danger.
- Chase Waterfalls: NT
If you’re in Darwin over summer, you’re going be looking for a refreshing dip. Unfortunately, the sea in Darwin is not safe for swimming. Visit Litchfield National Park in summer to watch waterfalls all over the park surge into spectacular water displays. Most of the park remains open over summer, although 4WD paths are closed.
